History of Business
The Brooks and District Museum was built in 1974 on seven acres of land that is now home to ten historic buildings. It was created with the mission to collect, preserve and portray the cultural heritage of the Brooks adn District area through natural history specimens, artifact, documents, maps, and information significant to the history
Description of Services
The museum is organized to be a "Walk Through The Ages," with a wide selection of exhibits including but not limited to ranching, the war years, the oil field, the N.W.M.P. and the Canadian Pacific Railway. The museum plans tours for elementary schools in the area, summer camps, nursing homes and other organizations. Some of the activities that the children take part in are washing, butter making, using a switch board or school house demonstration and old fashioned games. New this year are science experiments, and of course there is always a taste of some hand churned ice cream. One of the museum's main events is the Canada Day Celebration which includes a pancake breakfast, teddy Bear picnic and an antique tractor parade fun for the whole family.
