Recreation amenities are primarily located in the City of Brooks and the Town of Bassano.
City of Brooks Recreation Amenities:
Lakeside Leisure Centre
Completed in 2004 and partially financed by the County, the Lakeside Leisure Centre in Brooks is one of the best of its breed in Alberta:
- Lane Pool – six lane 25 meter pool with a 1-meter diving board (12 Feet as its deepest point). This pool is handicap accessible.
- Leisure/Wave Pool – with 13-different spray features, Lazy River, Handicap Accessibility, Tots Area and a Wave Machine (6 feet at its deepest point).
- Hot Tub - Large hot tub with Handicap Accessibility
- Sauna – Dry Sauna
- Steam Room
- Waterslide – 200 feet
- Fitness Centre – 5-treadmills, 3-elipticals, 4-bikes, 3-steppers, 2-upsteps, a universal gym, bench press, free weights, exercise balls and mats.
- Lockers & Showers (Day use only)
- Combatants Room – This is a designated for martial arts and wrestling programs.
- Flexhall (Gymnasium) – Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Floor Hockey, etc.
- Concession
- Curling Rink – 6 sheets of ice.
- Meeting Rooms – Two rooms with power point projectors, screen and audio equipment.

Brooks Regional Arena
Completed in January 2010, the new 1,700 seat Brooks Regional Arena is the new home of the
Brooks Bandits (Alberta Junior Hockey League).
Town of Bassano Recreation Amenities:
- Outdoor Swimming Pool - a mainstay of Bassano summer life for 40 years, the outdoor pool in the Town of Bassano was recently modernized with the financial assistance of the County of Newell.
- Recreation Complex - Golf Clubhouse, Bowling Alley, Curling Rink

Silver Sage Community Corral
Located 2.5 km south of Brooks, the Silver Sage Community Corral is a multi-purpose agricultural grounds and indoor riding facility. The main building features a 100 X 185 heated riding arena and the facility provides year-round barns for affordable horse boarding.
