Pioneer Gas Co-Op
History of Business
Pioneer Gas Co-Op was incorporated in 2003 as a result of a amalgamation of the Rosemary and Bassano Gas Co-Ops. Both Co-Ops have significant history in the region. Rosemary Gas-Op was incorporated in 1970 and Bassano followed shortly in 1973. Gem has also amalgamated with Pioneer in 2009 adding additional experience from Gem's Gas Co-Op going back to 1964. This has allowed them to form one of the largest providers of natural gas to rural areas spanning from North of Duchess to Crowfoot Creek, and from Hussar to the Bow River. Pioneer currently employs two fulltime technicians, and a fulltime and part-time office staff.
