Canadian Badlands Ltd. (CBL) is a not-for-profit Alberta Corporation providing a new and innovative approach to creating an integrated, destination-based tourism industry in South-Eastern Alberta. CBL is the largest co-operative regional partnership of municipal governments in Alberta. The shareholders are 62 municipal governments recognizing the power of co-operative efforts to develop and implement a strategic regional tourism development plan. Their vision is to develop the Canadian Badlands region to become a major iconic tourist destination for Alberta, to complement the role played by the Canadian Rockies in encouraging travel to and within the province.

It is an Alberta registered non-profit association governed by a 9 member Board of Directors. All Directors are stakeholders within the Tourism Industry. The Alberta South TDR maintains an office in Medicine Hat.
